OPITO are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Lammiman as the Asia Pacific

the professional and personal attributes needed to support OPITO’s International
Peter had this to say about his new appointment: I would like to thank David Doig CEO OPITO and the OPITO Board for demonstrating
their confidence in appointing me in this new, challenging and dynamic role. I
believe the decision to open an office in Kuala Lumpur demonstrates OPITO’s long-term
commitment to better serve the Industry in the Asia Pacific region and I feel
honoured to be part of this process.
The Regional Oil and Gas Operators, Contractors and workforce in general, will
benefit greatly by having a permanent OPITO presence within the region. This will
be achieved through closer monitoring and assurance of OPITO training delivery,
in addition, we intend to provide assistance to those organisations who wish to
become OPITO approved.
Companies will also benefit through gaining more knowledge regarding other OPITO
products and services which are currently not widely used in the region, these
products and services will contribute to increasing workers competence thus improving
operational safety performance.
Peter will be starting this new appointment 3rd December 2007 and his reporting
line will be to Ian Laing, International Business Development Manager.
Peter has been working in the Oil and Gas Industry and has been involved in OPITO
standards, training and assessment for nearly 20 years. He has worked in various
disciplines for major oil and gas operators in the Middle East and South East
Asia for over 15 years, these disciplines have included onshore fabrication, offshore
construction and installation, commissioning, project management, operational
competency and competence assurance with C & G BTEC and Edexcel, Development
of HSE Management Systems, auditing and review of HSE Cases, HSE Training and
has extensive experience of OPITO ER Training.
Peter has been a member of National Educational Bodies in the formulation of
Technical Educational Strategies, and was the inaugural Chairman of the Asia Pacific
OPITO TPAG. He has recently completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration
(MBA), holds a Diploma in Safety Management and is a Member of the International
Institute of Risk and Safety Management.
Peter is married to Juliet who is a successful business woman and they have two
girls named Robyn and Alyssa now aged 16 and 13 years.
